think love

Made up some fabric scrap valentine's cards this week. I kind of get into valentine's day cards, I particularly enjoy making them because, unlike Christmas cards, there are no expectations for valentine's cards. There is no pressure. They can suck and it won't matter, it will still be sweet. To make them I ironed fabric scraps to freezer paper, so it would be stabilized. Then, I used cookie cutters to make my shapes with a fabric marker. After that, it's just cut and sew.
I like sewing on paper, it feels oddly naughty. Like I'm really pushing some crafting edge. I guess that is as thrilling as things get for a mom of two little people! Either way, Happy (nearly) Valentine's Day all.

Very cool cards there! Well done. Am hoping to set some time next week aside to work on cards and small little books (there was a post I saw online with a tiny hand made book- 12 things I love about you) thought it such a sweet thing.

Love it, Melissy. We're making felt magnets for all her little classmates. As in: I cut hearts out of felt and put an adhesive magnet on back, she glues stuff on it. Repeat 19 times. Done! I LOVE valentine's day--for precisely the reason you wrote. no expectations. all sweetneess.

Thanks all! Three Owls, I'm so happy to know you and your girls will be enjoying this. Would love to *see* more about it. Jupe, I have great memories of marathon card-making sessions in Seattle with you. Julie! Magnets. Hmm, what an idea...
